When I started crack do audaces, it wasn't very ambitious. I advertised on social media and tried to get a few people to sign up for the blog. My initial goal was just to write about stuff that had happened in my life and organize my thoughts so I could share them with the world - something that I needed myself. It turned out that people who had never met me or followed me before were interested in some of the same issues that were on my mind: mental health, relationships, relationships with friends and family members, and finding yourself along your journey. I had never anticipated that. I thought no one really cared about the things I did. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed what I did. Even more surprising is how much other people enjoyed my writing; the blog started getting thousands of views per post, and subscribers were able to get in touch with me on Facebook and Twitter. Sometimes they would write to share their own stories with me, or just to say that they liked what I had said or that they agree with my perspective. The most surprising thing was when someone said they would pay me cash money for doing this thing on the internet. I had no idea how much work actually went into all of this. I thought it would be fun to give it a try, so started the blog in January 2011. It didn't take long for me to start getting requests for paid writing gigs. Those came in through my blog, but also through other people who were interested in what I had to say about things like marketing, public speaking, and entrepreneurship. For the most part, these opportunities involved me reading books and other material, taking notes on what worked for me, and then writing about stuff that I especially liked or recognized as having value. This approach proved successful enough that eventually I was able to quit my job while still keeping the blog up while working on freelance projects. In February 2012, I saw an ad on Craigslist for a job as a social media manager. That was the moment when everything started to change. After a few rounds of interviews with a friend of a friend at a small web development company, I got the job and started working from home for the first time ever. I worked with that company for about 9 months before they went out of business - something that happens to small businesses every day. When they were gone, I found another job very quickly within my own industry. It turns out that people actually want to hire experienced writers who know how to work well in this environment, and can recognize valuable materials when they see them. I have kept working in this way ever since. I started with the blog, but now I do all sorts of different things for clients that are interested in my writing or in what I have to say about mental health, relationships, and social media marketing. I want to say thank you for reading. If you are still reading this after all these months, then thank you for being interested in what I have to say. If you are looking for someone to help you make sense of your life or your business, then let me know what your goals are, and let's see if we can work together towards making them happen. http://www.crackdoaudacesblog.wordpress. cfa1e77820
